Who :

Dance was a first love for Tracee Kafer, who started at the innocent age of 3.   With over 25 years of training in multiple genres, she has now turned feverishly to pole dancing to reach new heights...    (literally), which has only deepened her attachment to dance as a means of artistic expression.  She believes that dance can create a deeper knowledge of self, of life’s experiences, and of the connections we have to one another.  Tracee has a diverse background in pole dance training, and in 2011 was certified by the X-Pert Pole Fitness Certification Program.  She has trained with pole professionals from all over the world, and works alongside pole dancers such as Michelle Stanek, Kyra Johannesen, Marlo Fisken, and Steven Retchless at Body & Pole in New York City.

Tracee was selected to compete in Polesque in May 2011, where she was awarded Top 3 placement, and then in December of 2011, she won Polesque, and became the current East Coast Polesque Champion.   She is also a current US Pole Dance Federation Amateur Competition Finalist, and will compete this September in New York.

Tracee has been involved with Give Her A Voice, an organization that aims to heal the trauma of abuse through art and creative expression, and ÆRA, a non-profit aerial dance company in New York. She performed in the first Give Her A Voice production, The Telling, choreographed by Lara Luzim, which raised thousands of dollars for the Brookwood Home For Girls as well as in ÆRA's first monthly production of Fin De Siglo in New York. Tracee also pursues a career in creative design and marketing and works in the health & beauty industry in New York City; but at night, she teaches, studies, and performs the art that makes her feel her most alive.

What :

Finding Your Freestyle - 2 Hours  $55.00

Maybe you don't invest enough time in your freestyles, or maybe you do and you just want more. This workshop is designed to give you the tools and freedom to go deeper and farther in your freestyle movement.   Become more confident in your own body and learn how YOU love to move in a supportive environment focused on the individual and the collective enjoyment of dance. In this class you will go through a guided warmup with Tracee followed by assignments designed to trigger different styles and personal growth in your own pole dance. Tracee may ask you to bring in a few favorite songs, a clothing item, or even shoes! This class is intimate in size, and you will have lots of personal space to explore across multiple poles.  (Get ready to DANCE your heart out!)

PoleOgraphy - 90 Min.  $45.00
2:30 pm - 4:00 pm PoleOgraphy / Mixed Level

In PoleOgraphy, you will learn a unique, stylized pole routine designed to increase your pole movement vocabulary while also focusing on musical and emotional connectivity. This class strives to improve your sense of musicality, lines, and expression with the use of dynamic and contrasting movement on the pole. Learn to combine moves into one beautiful flowing piece, while most importantly adding your own individuality! This class is NOT for beginners as you may be expected to climb and/or invert.
