We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to bring you some new and exciting classes beginning September 13th. First, let’s tell you who’s teaching:
Accro Brandon is a full time gypsy and travels internationally for pole fitness work, competitions and performances and teaches pole and partner acro workshops during his travels. He prefers a powerful and masculine style of pole fused with up beat, creative and sometimes comical movement.
Brandon has been part of the pole/aerial/accro community since 2010, competing in pole since 2012 and actively teaching acro since 2013. He is a Level 2 Acro Yoga Montreal certified teacher and is also a member the Liquid Motion family, a traveling workshop series that teaches fluidity through sensual movement and basic dance theory, developing a new workshop that combines doubles movement and acro. He has most recently been seen performing his Swing Pole act aboard Norwiegan Cruise Line’s Breakaway, and also competing (and winning) at Pole Sport Organization’s Seaboard competition. Join him for these classes:
Wednesday at 6:15 – Accro Floor class
Accro Floor is a handstand based fitness class that uses influences from acrobatics (handstands and cart wheel movements), animalistic locomotion and contemporary floor. We will also incorporate some partner acro exercises where applicable! This is an all levels class meant to build and improve upon a handstand practice and those looking for strength and conditioning movements without focusing purely on handstands. Expand your movement repertoire “ala handstands”!
$27.00 per person / 4-Pack for $95.00
Wednesday at 7:15 Swing Pole Class
Swing, swinging or aerial pole is an aerial apparatus that hangs from aerial rigging points. This is a free form class for students since each person will posses a different repertoire of pole tricks and poses and the movement of the pole affects each person differently. That said you will learn different combos that I use frequently and ideas and concepts for building a swing pole routine and harnessing its power and momentum. It is recommended that students are proficient in climbing the pole multiple times and are starting inversions at the least.
$27.00 per person / 4-Pack for $95.00
Also welcome Jeni Janover!
Jeni Janover is the passionate founder and owner of Liquid Motion®. In addition to being an XPERT and ElevatED certified pole instructor, Jeni has an extensive background in performing and visual arts, ranging from Classical ballet to sculpture and graduated at the top of her class in the school of Fine Arts at Syracuse University. She began her pole dancing career in 2010, and was instantly addicted. Jeni created Liquid Motion® because she wanted to develop a methodology for people of all levels and backgrounds that teaches students the fundamentals of movement through basic dance theory and exploration of natural instincts. Jeni has taught her signature workshops all over the United States, Mexico and Canada, and is excited to be able to bring this new 75 Minute liquid Motion class to Body and Pole. Jeni describes her style of dancing and teaching as a combination of life, love, sex, and raw emotion. She believes that knowledge, exploration, and education are the keys to bringing the aerial arts to the forefront of modern culture and is excited to be a part of the ever growing pole dance community.
She joins us twice monthly for a Liquid Motion Fluidity Class. Join her on Sept 15th and Sept 29th:
Liquid Motion Fluidity requires strength, flexibility, knowledge of techniques and an understanding of what the body is truly doing, and how that changes the movement quality you’re trying to achieve. This is not something that can be achieved in a single class or workshop, which is why The Girl Spot and Liquid Motion created this custom class that will target your specific needs every month.
THE LIQUID MOTION CUSTOM CLASS.
This twice-monthly 90-minute class is packed with a variety of content all designed to help you have a complete understanding of all things Liquid. In addition to what is learned in class, homework will be given: specific excersizes to work on between classes for faster progress, and more success during each class. This class will examineat dozens of pirouettes, twists, turns, drags, lifts, drops, inverts, aerial work, static rotation, intricate base work, and heels techniques. This class is exclusive to the Girl Spot and will be designed for the specific needs and requests of the students. Get a notebook, grab your pole shorts and your knee pads , and let’s #GetLiquid ON THE POLE.
$30 per person / 90 minutes
