  • Liz Pole & Lyra Instructor


    Elevated Teacher Training certified

    Liz was introduced to Pole Fitness at a bachelorette party in 2009. She was so enamored with the sport, she purchased a pole soon after & began training on her own. She began classes & was immediately accepted as a work study assistant, making the foundations for her new career. Liz became ElevatED certified to teach Pole Fitness in 2013. She is also a certified Fly Aerial Fitness Instructor and is studying for her group fitness certification through AFAA. She looks forward to obtaining additional aerial arts certifications, including Lyra (aerial hoop), to her teaching accolades.

    Liz is a freestyle dancer, formerly employed by various entertainment production companies as a go-go dancer for large parties, events & DJs throughout CT & NY. She won her first Pole Fitness competition at SuperShag PFC in the Level 2 (Silver) division, September 2013. And, respectively won a silver medal in the Level 2 Championship division at PSO’s Atlantic Pole Championships earlier this year.

  • Gabby Pole Instructor

    Elevated Teacher Training certified
    Gabriella Marra began dancing at age 3 in her hometown of Shelton, CT and has been dancing ever since. Throughout her childhood Gabby studied the art of ballet, tap, jazz and gymnastics, where she went on to compete at a near-elite level. In the 5th grade, she began cheerleading, which led to cheering for a local, semi-professional football team, as well as coaching at a local college.

    In 2012 she discovered pole dancing and was instantly hooked. She is delighted to be a member of The Girl Spot family and looks forward to sharing with others the art of pole fitness. When she’s not poling around, Gabby holds a full-time job as a senior programmer & data processor for a market research firm.

  • Elin Fly Aerial Fitness, Dance & Pole Instructor

    Elin Waterston took her first Ballet lesson at age three and has been dancing ever since. She went on to study many other styles of dance including Jazz, Lyrical, Theater Dance, Highland Dance, Latin Dance, Ballroom and Bellydance.

    Elin became a certified Climb&Spin® Pole Dance Instructor in 2011. She is also a certified Fly Aerial Fitness Instructor, LaBlast® Ballroom Fitness Instructor and a licensed Zumba® Instructor. When she’s not dancing, Elin works as an artist’s model…

     

  • Alicia Pole Instructor

    Elevated Teacher Training certified
    Alicia began studying ballet and modern dance at the age of 4. She studied the principles of contemporary dance and yoga, Feldenkrais: Awareness Through Movement at Sarah Lawrence College and graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2011 with a B.A. in history.

    Alicia continued to study dance at the Performing Arts Center of Connecticut and Dance New Amsterdam. In 2012, she discovered pole fitness and begin her training at The Girl Spot. She immediately fell in love with the strength, beauty and artistry that can be achieved through pole fitness and looks forward to sharing her passion with her students.

  • Katherine Fly Aerial Fitness, Barre, Pole Instructor

    Katherine began studying dance at the age of 4 and has been dancing ever since. Growing up Katherine studied ballet, jazz, modern, pointe, hip hop, tap and African dance.

    Katherine continued to study dance at Elon University. While at Elon she earned her degree in Elementary Education. During the day you can find Katherine teaching kindergarten at a local Elementary school.

    Katherine found Pole Dancing and Fly Aerial Fitness in 2013 and has been hooked since day 1. In March of 2014 she attended Fly Aerial Fitness Instructor certification.

    She is excited to combine her love of education and dancing with her students.

     

  • Judy Jovanelly OWNER / POLE INSTRUCTOR

    Judy, an ex-professional dancer and mother of two is a firecracker with a mission. She spent several years working in and around the entertainment industry – everything from dance companies and regional theater productions to working on cruise ships as a featured dance act with a dance partner (her new partner is now her dance pole…)!Her mission is to bring a warm and supportive environment to women who want to break out of their boring exercise routines and try some really fun ways to get fit.When not dancing around or exercising, Judy loves to go watch her husband’s band, volunteer at her daughter’s elementary school whenever possible, hang with her friends and just laugh a lot. Since reaching an age of over 40, her motto regarding life is “I’m not goin’ down without a fight,” and she hopes to inspire women of all ages to continually remain optimistic that, whatever your age, the best is yet to come.Judy began studying dance at a very early age, locally and in New York at such renowned institutions as Steps and Broadway Dance, training with some of the best dancers in the world. Throughout her late teens into her early 30’s she also taught classes in Connecticut, Florida and Vancouver, British Columbia, after having spent several years working in dance companies, regional theater, and as the female lead of a featured dance partnering act on cruise ships. When time permits, Judy continues her dance studies in Connecticut and in New York. Judy is also very passionate about fitness in general. She is an active participant in pole fitness and has turned her passion for dance and love of pole into a way to help get other women comfortable with themselves and into the shape that they want to be. Judy is also CPR/AED certified and an X-Pert Pole Fitness Certified Teacher.
